How do single-parents raise children without resenting them?

Some women actually do resent the child. Some end up resenting that child right into their adulthood and blame the child for taking their own childhood (teens) away from them. I know of such a case. A very selfish outlook I would say. On the other side of the coin, there are mothers who manage to cope alone and not resent the child because of the father and I like to think they are in the majority because a woman when she becomes a mother has an enormous capacity for nurturing and giving love without expecting anything in return. It does require a lot of support from other family members and friends though because it is an extremely difficult job to cope with alone.
