How do server food warmers compare?
So you can serve the best quality product all day, Server brand warmers feature an adjustable pre-calibrated thermostat*. A warmer with a thermostat regulates temperature by sensing its surface or air temperature. Once it reaches the termperature, set by the operator, the thermostat opens and the current is switched off. When the temperature falls below the set point, the thermostat closes and the current is on, repeating the cycle. ADVANTAGES • Accurate • Long Life • Consistent DISADVANTAGES • Needs Calibration (done by Server) A warmer with an infinite heat controller is a rheostat that controls the incoming current to the warmer. It does not sense temperature. The current to the warmer is always on, unless disconnected by an internal or external positive switch to the controller. ADVANTAGES • No Calibration Needed DISADVANTAGES • Short Life • Higher Energy Consumption • Inaccurate * Except extremely low-temperature Cone Dip Warmers.
