How do select/set an avatar?
Its much easier than you think. First you have to find an image that is the right size. We have a few threads floating around (and might eventually have a collection that is easy-access), but what you need is a .jpg or .gif that is 80 pixels x 80 pixels or smaller and totals out at less than 6K. If you cant get the image you want lowered to these specifications, contact one of the mods for help. Once you have your file, all you have to do is click on user CP at the top of the screen, then click where it says “edit avatar” in the menu on the right. On the screen that pops up, click the radio button next to “use custom avatar” then input the location of the file into the blank (or click browse and navigate to it on your own computer). Once youve done that click save changes and youre done. Remember that an avatar on a message board is akin to a person’s face. It’s a way to identify a poster by looking at the picture.
