How Do Saltwater Chlorinators Work?
Saltwater chlorinators are a good alternative to the traditional pool chlorination. They work by making chlorine from salt through electrolysis. The salt water goes through an electrolytic cell in the chlorinator. This turns the salt into a chlorine gas that dissolves in the water and becomes sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine). The chlorine turns back into salt and the process continues, as long as the generator works properly.
