How do safety films work in general, and thicker Panorama window films specifically?
Safety films in general mitigate the dangerous effects of projectile glass during accidental and intentional glass breakage, such as natural disasters, terrorism and burglary attempts. Once installed to the interior surface of glass, safety films help hold broken glass together on the film upon impact to prevent airborne pieces from harming people and damaging property. Safety films consist of one or more layers of polyester film laminated together to form a tough, resilient product. The safety series of Panorama window film works towards the same principle: to help keep shattered glass within the frame and prevent harmful shards from becoming airborne. These films are offered in thickness of 4 and 8 Mil (.004″ to .008″), and as clear and solar control versions.
