Actually you are wrong about the Greeks (Orthodox). There are some differences in the belief but both believe. The Orthodox argument is the Western description of purgatorial fire while the Orthodox describe the process of purgation as an absence and deprivation of divine light. Western theologians are moving more towards the Greek teaching and the Greeks are acknowledging that there may be more to purgation than just an absence of the divine.
