The State divorce court first enters a divorce decree or order dividing a pension. Then a QDRO is entered and served to the Plan. Even though the court signed off on the Order, it still requires acceptance by the Plan. Your rights are not protected and you will not receive anything until the plan deems your Order is “Qualified” and acceptable by the Plan.
