How do pupil supervisors know whether they are eligible to take pupils or whether they are required to do training or refresher training?

The Inns keep records of approved pupil supervisors. The Wood Report [80] recommended that supervisors should attend a training course run by an Inn or Circuit every five years. Those who have not attended a course for five years (or at all) and those who have not supervised a pupil for 5 years should be removed from the register [80]. This is required with immediate effect, and the same training must be undertaken by all since those who have supervised in the past will still benefit from the new training. In other words any person undertaking supervision of a pupil who does not meet this requirement must undertake training with an Inn or a Circuit as soon as possible. In future (and once systems are in place to ensure tracking of supervisors and their training) this requirement will be monitored through the Chambers Monitoring Process.
