But a good protein shake – one that contains high qualify protein and amino acids, tastes decent enough to consume, and does not contain a huge dose of belly busting calories – can help people lose weight. Reduce Cravings – One reason that people experience food cravings is because they do not consume enough protein. In a perfect world, we would all be able to eat right and get enough protein and other nutrients in our diet.
