So, how does a professional designer design a room? They all have their own ways, but the basics are generally the same. I’m going to let you in on some professional methods. First, decide on the “look.” Is the house to be designed in a traditional style — or with a contemporary motif? Next, mentally visualize the designs for the walls. Do you want the walls to look slick and shiny? Then elegant is the style you want. Or will the walls be textured? If so, the look will be more casual. Either wall design can be accomplished with paint or wallpaper. Now that a style has been determined, select a pattern that catches your eye. The pattern should include the colors you need to develop the design of the room. Another approach is to decide on colors that are most appealing to you.
