How do poor time management skills affect students’ planning of the completion of a long term homework assignment?
If students are likely to procrastinate because they have poor time management skills, then teaching them how to break down large assignments into smaller ones will mean they are less likely to procrastinate, experience stress and rush through an assignment without really focusing on the lesson. • RQ3: Will improving student attitudes towards the value of each assignment help them manage their time better? Since relevance is an important factor in student motivation, if students understand why the assignment has been made and how it will help them reach their learning objectives then they are more likely to complete the assignment in a thoughtful manner (and start in time to do so).
