How do police speed cameras work?

0

In the UK, speed cameras work by taking 2 or 3 pictures in a second of a car that is going faster than the speed limit ( I think they recognise this by a radar or a sensor or something) Then between the 2 or 3 pics they measure the distance travelled between each pic ( speed = distance divided by time) From that they can work out how fast you were going, and if you were over the speed limit, they send you a letter home by identifying you registration plate. Hope it helped.
