How do Pilates and Yoga Differ?
There are many kinds of practices of Yoga and Pilates, each with different, yet unified, goals. Yoga and Pilates all are Mind, Body, and Spirit exercises. But there are some very distinct differences. Yoga holds poses, while Pilates is a flowing movement system. Yoga is great for stress relief or to take an inner journey with some flexibility poses. Pilates is a beautiful link of both flexibility and strength while working the mind. I teach and practice both. I often say, Yoga didnt help my Pilates but Pilates helped my Yoga and Yoga saved me money on a therapist.
