In Oregon, we are dependent on self-reporting of physicians, and since physicians are rarely present at the time of the lethal ingestion, we really dont know. The Oregon Department of Human Services publicly states that they do not have “authority to investigate individual Death with Dignity cases. The Oregon law actually prohibits investigation of many details of these deaths.
