BISMARCK — Gov. John Hoeven said he’s asking the Federal Emergency Management Agency for trailers to help tornado victims in Dickinson. Hoeven said FEMA’s North Dakota coordinating officer, Tito Hernandez, indicated the agency has trailers available. FEMA has opened a disaster aid center at Dickinson’s Prairie Hills Mall. Hoeven’s statement said dormitories at Dickinson State University and area hotel rooms are being used for temporary housing, but long-term housing will be needed.
