How do payments work on Andros? Are credit cards and travelers checks okay?
Cash is always accepted and preferred. US dollars are one-to-one with the Bahamian dollar, and both are accepted everywhere. Many establishments do not accept credit cards, traveler’s checks or personal checks, period. Also, change may not be available for large bills, so be sure to have plenty of small bills. This is especially true for tipping, make sure you have many small bills for the porters that carry your luggage to and from your charter plane in Nassau and in Andros.
