How do neutron and electron degeneracy differ?
Neutrons and electrons are both “fermions” and the Pauli exclusion principle applies to both of them. They both have degeneracy pressure- if you try to squeeze many of them into a small space, they resist with pressure. However you can cram more neutrons into the same space than electrons- this is related to the fact that neutrons are more massive: for a given momentum, the neutron velocity is lower. This means that pressure is lower for neutrons compared to electrons squeezed into the same volume.
