How do most professional skateboarders adjust to life after they’re done skateboarding?
Most of them stay within the industry somehow, if not on the consulting basis, maybe on design or team management. What about you? Was there ever any question that you would leave skateboarding? Yeah, I never wanted to. I mean, there was a time in my life where I thought I might have to in order to survive, but I never wanted to, I always wanted to stay in the industry. Did other options pop into your heads? I actually borrowed money from my parents to buy a video editing system because I knew how to do that, and I thought I could come in as an editor and help people do stuff. I did that for a little while, probably for about a year, but no work was really steady enough to rely on it and also I never made enough money to pay my parents back within the time that I was happy.
