How do Master attendance and Class attendance interact, and to what extent?
Class attendance is affected by updates made to the master attendance records. In the case of a student coming in late, the master attendance record will most likely get updated to an Absent attendance status in the morning. This will cause all of the class attendance records for this student to get the status of Absent as well. Once the student arrives, their master attendance record is updated to say Tardy. Once that happens, the classes which have already passed will keep the status of Absent, but the classes which occur after the student arrives will then get their statuses updated to Present (assuming they have accurate schedules configured). The inverse will happen in the case of an early dismissal. The student’s class attendance will show present, once an Early Dismissal Time is entered in the master attendance record, the subsequent class attendance statuses default to Absent.
