How do interior designers charge for thier work?
In this area, a good designer will usually charge a set fee for a walk through and time to discuss your ideas. Ten years ago I paid about $60.00 per hour, whether she was here hanging a picture or shopping for accessories. A designer will also bill his/her time to accompany you to make fabric selections, etc. I was happy with the results; she was really open to incorporating my ideas, not just sticking to some set design ideas of her own. Visit some local shoppes and ask polite questions. They should be open to your interest as a new student.
