How do industry members contribute to the aims of the 4C Association?
All 4C Members sign up to the principle of continuous improvement. Roasters, as final buyers of the green coffee, commit to buying increasing volumes of 4C Compliant Coffee over time. Each year they report their increased volumes confidentially to the 4C Secretariat. The prices paid to farmers should reflect the quality of the 4C Compliant Coffee resulting from more sustainable production practices. Part of the total membership fees from Trade and Industry Members is allocated to 4C Support Services, contributing to training and capacity building activities for farmers. The detailed contribution of Trade and Industry Members within the 4C Association is set out in the Rules of Participation. You can download the Rules of Participation from the website here.
