How do individuals submit testimony to the Platform Committee?
Under the Democratic Party’s rules, any person may submit a written statement concerning the Platform to the Platform Committee at any time prior to the Committee’s meeting. This year, the Democratic National Committee and the Obama for American campaign are launching Listening to America: The Democratic Platform for Change, an unprecedented initiative to reach out to all Americans as part of the Platform process. Beginning July 7 and ending on July 15, Americans across the country will be invited to visit the Obama for America or DNC websites to register to host or attend local “Platform meetings” for the purpose of discussing and making recommendations to the Democratic Platform. The meetings are scheduled to occur between July 19 and 27.
