How do images from a MiniCAT™ scanner compare to images from a full-body CT scanner?
Scans taken with a MiniCAT™ scanner consist of hundreds of slices as thin as 0.3 mm for temporal bones. A typical sinus scan taken with the MiniCAT™ scanner contains about 300 slices that are 0.4 mm thick, and a typical temporal bone scan contains about 200 slices that are 0.3 mm thick. This is almost one order of magnitude better than scans taken with a full-body CT scanner, which typically generates slices that are 2 to 3 mm thick.
