How do i write an answer to a summons?
If you receive a summons, you want to first copy the top portion of the Plaintiff’s complaint, and make sure you name the Plaintiff and Defendant exactly how they appear on the summons. Then, Make sure that the cause number is included in this. On the right portion of the paper, you need to state the Defendant’s answers and affirmative defenses. Now if you look at the Plaintiff’s complaints, your answer to the summons should look exactly like this, and add the Defendant’s answers and affirmative defenses. When you finish answering, file a cop with your County Clerk’s Office, send one to the Plaintiff, and then keep the other one for yourself. That’s it!
