There are two paths that can be taken: The first and most efficient is to use the IRIDAS family of products such as FrameCycler or SpeedGrade XR/DI to natively import and convert the SIV file format to any other necessary file format needed such as DPX files. The second approach is to convert the SIV files to .DNG format, which is Adobe’s open camera raw format. This can be done using the “Convert to DNG” button in the player interface. Once in .DNG file sequences, the 12-bit RAW data from the SI-2K can be imported and converted to a number of different file formats either using Adobe Camera RAW, After Effects, or open-source solutions like Dcraw.
