How do I work out if my Sportaloosa is eligible for Studbook One?
Sportaloosas eligible for Studbook One have no more than 2 horses in the fourth generation of eligible non-spotted blood. Every horse in the first 4 generations of a Sportaloosa’s pedigree must be of eligible blood. We’ve included a couple of examples below (with non-spotted blood shown in aqua). Studbook One pedigree showing 2 non-spotted blood horses in generation 4. Note that these horses could appear anywhere in generation 4; this example shows the paternal great-grandparents of a Sportaloosa’s sire.
