There are some security issues with doing that which you might want to research, but I have never had any security problems with it in almost two decades (not to say that you won’t, but in my experience the risk is minimal for the trade off). The only other thing I can think of is that if you’re going to have the printer connected to a PC and that PC is running all the time, you can use File & Print Sharing to send print jobs to that computer, then it will send them to the printer. If you’re NOT going that route, a wireless print server might be your best bet. It’s simply a device that connects to your printer via a USB (or parallel, if they are still availalble) port, and the box connects wirelessly to your router.
