How do I wire the Autoswitch on a K1200RS/K1200GT?
Red – Switched power (can use the fuse box or the parking lamp in the headlight bucket) Orange – to Turn Signal Cancel wire. This is brown with a white stripe. The K1200RS/GT does not make this very easy. If you remove the fuel tank, the wiring will be easier to access, but it can be done without pulling the tank. Pull the fan shroud off of the right cooling fan and locate the wire bundles behind it. In one of the bundles, you’ll find a Brown wire with a White stripe. Use a good flashlight with a white beam; non-halogen flashlight bulbs are yellow and you’ll have a hard time distinguishing the Brown/White from Brown/Yellow. Tap the Orange Autoswitch wire into the Brown/White wire and replace the fan shroud. Note – If you have the AS-4NB-CG pre-wired version of the Autoswitch, you will have a plug on the Black and Violet wires that plug into our wiring harness. Just plug it into the harness and skip the remainder of these instructions.
