When you only want to monitor for software updates that are run on operating systems that are compatible with your installed Mac OS version, you can select the operating system filters under “Filtering for.” Software updates that are not compatible with operating systems you have selected will be excluded in the watch list. Keep in mind that you set each watch list’s preferences separately. The “Available Updates” watch list is a combination of each individual watch list’s settings, including the default “Installed Software” watch list and any custom watch lists that you create.
