It’s actually a lot simpler than you think… I’ve gotten quite used to the cruise control on my 300SEi. First, to activate the system, press the button on the end of the stalk; you’ll see the word ‘Cruise’ light up next to the rev-counter. Next step is to set the speed, once at a stable speed (100, 120, etc) click the lever down towards the floor and release. Now the cruise control is set at your current speed. To adjust the speed while moving, push the lever up towards the windshield and hold it for a few seconds; you’ll feel the car accelerating. Release lever when desired speed is attained. Same applies for slowing down; hold the lever down until you’re going the desired speed. To cancel the cruise control, either pull the lever towards the steering wheel, or touch the brake pedal; doing so will stop accelerating, but the ‘Cruise’ light will stay active. If you canceled the cruise control, you may click the lever straight up towards the windshield once to resume the previous speed.
