With an English qwerty keyboard the accents are typed as follows: grave – use option-` followed by the character to go below the grave, eg è à ò acute – use option-e followed by the character to go below the acute, eg é á ó cedilla – use option-c to give ç and less common in French: circumflex – use option-i followed by the character to go below circumflex, eg î ê ô diarisis – use option-u followed by the vowel to be pronounced separately, eg aïe (ouch! in English) You can see the location of these accents in any language version by opening Keyboard Viewer and pressing whichever keys make them appear, ie key alone, option-key, shift-key, shift-option-key.
