As long as the program or system change you are testing does not require a restart of your computer, RSS/RVS in Virtual Mode can be used to evaluate the effects and performance of the specific changes. If the program or change requires a restart, RSS/RVS will not be the proper environment to test, but is the proper solution to protect your supported version of Windows while you test the program in a computer simulation solution such as VMWare, Virtual PC, Virtualbox, etc.
