You might probably need the product key while you are in the installation process. First check whether your computer has the sticker that has the product key. If so you can process. 1. Start your PC and insert the CD. 2. If you insert the CD after Windows XP boot process then just restart while the CD is still inside the drive. You may want to give windows sometime to first boot itself to prevent corruption to the hard disk. 3. If you have a branded PC like Dell, HP etc, the chances are that you only need to press a few keys to confirm that you need to go ahead with the installation process. Just follow the instructions given on screen and you are good to go.
