To connect 2 computers via a “cross over” cable (NOT a standard Cat5 ethernet cable) plug one end of the cord into the ethernet jack of laptop 1 & the other end of the cord in the ethernet of jack 2. Run network set up and follow the prompts. Remember – a “cross over” cable is different then a standard cat5 ethernet cable – the wires are different on each end. If you dont have a “cross over” cable, visit a store that sells ethernet cat5 cables (CompUSA, CircuitCity, BestBuy, etc) and they will be hanging near the regular ethernet cables. If you dont see them ask a sales associate.
