How do I use a bending brake on aluminum alloy?
Mark the BendAlign the zero end of a steel rule with one edge of the aluminum alloy to receive the bend. Mark an arrow to designate the bend location with a scratch awl. Align one side of a square with the arrow mark. Draw a line through the center of the arrow. Repeat the procedure along the opposite edge of the aluminum alloy to mark the bend.Adjust Clamping Leaf DepthHold the piece of aluminum alloy vertically against the front edge of a sheet-metal brake clamping leaf. Turn the bolts located behind the clamping leaf with an adjustable wrench until the thickness of the aluminum alloy sits behind the front edge of the lower bending leaf.Bend the Aluminum AlloyPush both clamping leaf handles of the sheet-metal brake forward. Slide the piece of aluminum alloy between the clamping leaf and the bending leaf. Align the bending marks with the leading edge of the clamping leaf. Pull the handles toward you to secure the aluminum alloy.
