One of the most important upgrades is the computer processor. Upgrading this piece of equipment is an easy task, provided that your processor is supported by your motherboard. Power down your PC and disconnect all of the cables from your computer. Remove the side panel from your computer tower and lay the tower on the side that is not open. This is done by sliding the panel towards the rear of the tower and lifting away. Depending on the design of the tower, you may have to remove two to four screws. Remove the large processor heatsink (often times indicated by the processor logo on it) from the motherboard by first disconnecting any electrical wires from the motherboard, then turning and lifting each of the four pegs holding the heatsink in place.
