You can update the software on your chartplotter or sounder simply by using the Marine Data Management Kit which can be found in the Garmin online store at the following link: http://shop.garmin.com/. This kit enables you to download updates from the Garmin website onto your own computer. The updates are then transferred onto a data card that fits conveniently into the card slot on the side of the GPS.
