How do I unmanage an element, or change an unmanaged element to managed?
Users normally unmanage device elements they are not interested in. They also do so temporarily when they know there is an element problem and do not want to receive frequent notifications about it. Managing and unmanaging are performed from the Administration Console: •To unmanage an element, select the element and right-click Unmanage. •To manage an unmanaged element: a. Select the element and right-click Manage. b. Select the element and right-click Rediscover to probe the element. c. Select Inventory > Reconfigure. d. Select Inventory > Save Inventory. To unmanage all elements in a group (including a group of ports or interfaces), use the new default threshold groups provided in the latest DFM IDU from http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-dfm.
