Some Acer laptops, depending on the model, may run much better with XP installed rather than Vista. If your Acer laptop has one gigabyte of RAM (or less), Vista can take up most of the system resources, causing your machine to run very slowly. Similarly, if your laptop is a newer model and has both a fast processor and several gigabytes of RAM, upgrading to Windows 7 may be an option. To uninstall Windows Vista, you must do a clean install of Windows XP, or upgrade Vista to Windows 7.
