GOOD GOSH! I HATE it when people answer questions they aren’t qualified to answer! I have written a handbook on parakeet care and used to breed them for a profession, having up to 150 babies in the nest boxes at one time. The only time you do NOT want to trim your pet birds wings is if you are keeping it in a large aviary! Not trimming your pet bird’s wings is the most irresponsible thing you can do! If they are allowed to fly around the house, they will soon meet their demise by falling into the toilet, fish tank, sink full of water, etc. They can also drown by sitting on the edge of a cup of water and while trying to get a drink, fall in head first and drown.
