Files are added to the SD card in the ClassMate Reader by connecting the ClassMate Reader to a computer through either 1) the USB cord included with the Classmate Reader or 2) putting the SD card into an SD card reader (sold separately, but widely available) and connecting to a computer. The SD card reader will transfer large files much faster than using the ClassMate Reader USB cord. In either case, the SD card will show on the computer as an external hard drive(very similar to a flash drive) or can be accessed through the Explorer Desktop (on Windows computers). The key to adding text is placing the file in the appropriate folder on the SD card. Plain text files (.txt) should be added to the (none) folder while a DAISY file(like those downloaded from Bookshare.org) should be placed in the(none) folder for example. The folders are created on the SD automatically by inserting an SD card into the ClassMate Reader. Tip:If you have an new SD card, never before used in the ClassMate Reader
