How do I transfer data from MOD 30ML/Modcell to Microsoft Excel Spread sheet?
I want to transfer data from MOD 30ML/Modcell to a DDE client like Microsoft Excel. The application could be to execute calculations in Escel spreadshhet or for reporting purposes. The Xmodbus OPC Server can double as a DDE Server. It can send data it collected from MOD 30ML/ Modcell or even standard Modbus devices like Commander controllers via DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to DDE client packages like Microsoft Excel. So it is possible to get values into a spreadsheet and then use Excel’s capabilities to perform calculations or even generate reports. To perform a DDE transaction from a DDE Server (Xmodbus OPC Server) to a DDE client, you need to configure a datapoint in the client (Excel) with the follwing syntax: servername|’devicename’!variable where servername = XMBOPC, devicename = name of the Xmodbus Device in the OPC Server and variable = variable from Name column in OPC server.
