How do I transfer birth records from Parasharas Light?
PL files are not made to be easily read by other software but you can use the record export feature – open the birth data record and select export (under Research), you have to do that for all the records you want to transfer. You can keep opening birth records and selecting export. When you are done go to Shri Jyoti Star. Then in SJS data entry select ‘File/Import PL Exported Record(s)’ from the file menu and navigate using the dialog to the PL data folder and double-click on the file ‘birthdat.txt’. After that SJS will remember where that file is kept. It is best to click ‘Yes’ to deleting the exported file when it asks you. Keep it only if you want to use it for some other purpose.
