How do I transfer and receive Waypoints, Routes and Tracks to and from a Chartplotter/Sounder?

A. There are a couple of ways to transfer and receive waypoints, routes and tracks. One option is through an A/C PC adapter which can be found under the accessories for most units. Along with this cable, you will need Trip and Waypoint Manager software or other Garmin mapping software such as MapSource. The second option is to purchase a Marine Data Management kit that will allow you to transfer this information via data card and then upload this into the unit via data card. Please keep in mind that your unit will need a data card slot and must be able to support this function. Please refer to your product owner’s manual or the product software update page to see if your marine device supports this function.
