How do i train my harris hawk?
If you are in the US….If you legally had a 9 yo harris hawk it would already be trained. To legally have a native bird of prey you must have a falconry, rehab or education permit, and are required to apprentice under a general or master falconer for at least 2 year. The first bird must be wild caught and all birds wild caught for falconry must be passage (first year) birds, the taking of older birds (other than kestrels and great horned owls) is not legal and birds taken prior to the permit being issued cannot be used for falconry.
