I have read your question to my daughter to get her input on this too. Her first response was “Don’t leave him in the kitchen so much”, but I explained that you don’t according to you. So we started thinking about our 12 week old puppy and how he sees each room in our house. By the way our puppy, a Puggle, only knows 2 “speeds”…full speed ahead, and neutral….hee hee hee. We use a baby gate to keep him in the kitchen only when my daughter is in there doing school work and I’m busy doing something else. Other than that, no gate. So our first thought is to give him more time in the livingroom so it won’t seem like such an exciting place. He knows the kitchen as the eating room. When our family is sitting down to eat, he knows it’s time to go in his crate (door left open) and wait until we’re done. Because of this, he thinks he needs to go in his crate if he sees us sit down at the table to play a board game. My 17 year old taught him this within the first 2 days we had him. The living
