How do I train a puppy?
The two ways you can potty train your puppy is either by crate training or potty pads (or both). You have to be patient with your puppy since it is so young. You should take it out after it wakes up and 30 minutes after each meal. Also if it is in the crate take it outside as soon as you let it out. With potty pads, whenever they use it give them lots of praise. Once they start to get the hang of using the pads slowly start moving the pad closer and closer to the outside door. If the dog you are getting is a baby puppy then yes, it will have accidents inside the house so confine it to an area with a tiled floor so it’s easy to clean. You need to watch your pup and learn to read the signs it will display when it needs to potty. No babies, either human or animal have control over their bowels and bladder until they are older and trained. Take the puppy outside every hour on the hour and use a word you are comfortable with to encourage pup to potty. When pup obliges make a fuss of praising him so he knows that he has pleased you. Take the puppy out after drinking, playing, eating, and sleeping. You need to stay outside with the pup for at least 10 minutes.
