• First, set some preliminary settings in Editor/Options/General tab. Set snap tolerance to 100 map units (feet), stream tolerance to 1 map unit, group 20 points (this is how many vertices will will be deleted together if you hit “undo”). • Start editing the sale polygon shape and set snapping to vertex and edge (must be both) of the road shape file only. • Select sale polygon to be split. • Select sketch tool. • Hover over the road outside the sale, left click to begin sketch, then right click and turn on “streaming” from pull down menu. • Without clicking, follow road as closely as possible with crosshairs of cursor until you can exit polygon. (You can deviate from the road at any time – if you are within the 100 foot snap tolerance, it will “trace” road, if you are outside that tolerance you will be freehand streaming. You can pause streaming at any point by hitting F8. You can hit “undo” and the 20 grouped vertices will be deleted. You can stop streaming by right clicking and turni
