How do I tint rolled fondant with the powdered color for icing ?

As suggested by previous answers, you can knead the powder into rolled fondant but depending on the type of powder it can sometimes cause streaking or grittiness. You can also put a little of the powder…I can’t tell you exact amount as I don’t know the quantity of fondant you have….into a small container like an eggcup, and add just enough very hot water to stir it into a paste. The hot water will melt the grains and blend the powder. Leave it to cool a little, although with only a teaspoon of hot water it will likely be cool enough by the time you mix it. Then use a brush to add it to the fondant. The best way, so that you can control the depth of colour you want, is to knead the colour into a small piece of fondant…around 4 oz, making it darker/stronger than you want, and then take about half of that and knead it into half the final quantity of fondant for that colour. You will see if it is strong enough for you…if not, knead in the other piece…if it is still too strong, ad
