From the spool, thread should go across the top of the machine (front or back, or sometimes diagonally) and go through a series of loops (loops, rings, hooks, etc) to reach the tension knob and finally the needle. One of these loops is on the arm that moves up and down as you sew. Check your machine for loops. Try any logical combination of these loops that will guide the thread down through the tension knob. Send it through the tension knob (usually behind) and bring it down to the needle. Pull gently on the thread. If it doesn’t pull easily, there’s a problem somewhere. Try a different combination of loops. Some machines have a little stacked tension device on top of the machine. This is where you wrap the thread when winding a bobbin. Don’t run the thread through there when threading the machine. Figure out how this machine winds a bobbin, and avoid that area when threading the machine to sew.
